About Candace:
Hello, everyone! I’m Candace, a 22-year-old recent college grad who’s spent enough semesters living as an unpaid intern and having a love-hate relationship with the dining hall (the convenience! the grease!) that I decided it’s time to take the proverbial oven mitts and spatula into my own hands. Each week, I’m cooking up cheap and easy recipes for you to enjoy (with a heaping side of terrible puns, as you can tell).
Feel free to e-mail me with questions, recipe suggestions, or just say hello. You can even be featured on the site!
About the site:
All of our featured recipes fit into four categories:
Dorm — These require just a few ingredients, minimal labor and residence-hall-approved appliances. They’re perfect if you’re new to this whole cooking-for-yourself thing.
Apartment — These recipes are a little more complicated, and they tend to use appliances that usually aren’t allowed in a residence hall, like an oven or stovetop.
Full Kitchen — Recipes in this category use more ingredients and require a wider array of kitchenware than what you’d typically find in a residence hall or new apartment.
Fast food, redefined (AKA frankendishes) — These recipes take foods you can commonly find at the dining hall and revamp them.
Just to make things easier, we also include a list of utensils required to make each dish along with the ingredient list. That way you can instantly see whether you have the right kitchen tools to create it.
